Why Lionlamb?

You probably noticed that my domain name is 'lionlamb', or 'lionlmb' , and not 'tstoffel', 'ns9e' or something like that. Here are the reasons why.

Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, "Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?" But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. Then, one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and it's seven seals."
Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. He has seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. He came and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne. And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song:
"You are worthy to take the scroll and to open it's seals,
because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God
from every tribe and language and people and nation.
You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,
and they will reign on the earth."
Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they sang:
"Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!"
Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing:
"To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!"
The four living creatures said, "Amen," and the elders fell down and worshiped. -Rev. 5:1-14 NIV

In this dramatic passage from the book of Revelation in the Bible, we see God the Father (The one on the throne) handing out the first round of judgements that make up the end of the world. His son, Jesus, who was identified as the Lion of Judah, the Root of David, and the Lamb who was slain, is the only one found worthy to open the scroll containing the judgements. Because Jesus is worthy, and also God, He is accorded worship and praise that is rightly due God, from every created being!

Ever since I was young, I have been fascinated with big cats, especially lions. When I became a Christian, and gave my life to Jesus, I adopted the lion as a personal symbol because Jesus is the Lion of Judah!

But, there is more to Jesus than his lionlike authority to rule and reign. He was sent to earth as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Like the lambs that were sacrificed for sin in days of old, Jesus was God's lamb, sacrificed once for all the sins of mankind. God raised Jesus from the dead, and in the process obtained eternal life for all who will follow Jesus. So, we have Jesus identified in this passage as a slain lamb that lives again!

Just like I did, you can find forgiveness of sins, a new meaning for life in this world, and life forever after our time in this world ends. It is easy, but be forewarned: You will never be the same! God has a plan for each of us, and wants us to come to know Jesus.

'For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me, and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek me and find me, when you search for me with all your heart.' -Jer. 29:11-13 NASB
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. -2 Pet. 3:9 NIV
For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. -1 Thess 5:9-10 NIV

The above promises are available to all who will give their lives to Jesus. To learn more about becoming a Christian, check out the Becoming a Christian page, also located in this web site under 'King of Kings'.

The other reason for lionlamb is that is I have named my side business 'Lion-Lamb engineering'. Again, the significance of the name is that Jesus-- the Lion of Judah, and the Lamb of God, is Lord of my business activities, too. (Lion-Lamb Engineering does custom electronic equipment construction, video systems consulting and installation, and dubbing from/to obselete videotape formats.
